Biography
Svana knew starting her own clan would be… tough. As young as she was, she knew she’d have trouble finding dragons willing to follow her, let alone trust her. She was plain, she was young, she didn’t have physical strength. She had her brain, her kindness, and Vieros.
She hadn’t wanted to leave her homeland, at least not yet. She had no choice. Vieros was young, strong, hot-headed, and stubborn. Svana wanted him.
The clan did not.
---
Her new clan loved her. The beginning of her clan was hatchlings she and her mate found while scouting for a lair. Vieros scared several of them with his unintentional hostility, but they all flocked to Svana as a mother figure.
She wanted to give them everything she had, devote herself to her clan. Her fur fell out in clumps when she overstressed when they ran low on food. She gave up her stash of tiny feathers so Salacia would be content. She gave up her food several nights because Mantus had been “hungry”. When she discovered he had been feeding another dragon, she adopted her into the clan as well to keep him happy.
Vieros kept her in line and took care of her. He put her needs first, and when she had her first clutch of eggs he begrudgingly took more responsibilities on, hunting and fishing while he guarded the clan.
---
Svana was pleased when Vieros brought Artemis to her. Finally, the clan had a healer and some of her worries were relieved. At first she questioned Vieros, quietly and calmly, if he had other reasons for bringing Artemis in. He chuckled, a rare occurrence, and draped his wing over her, dismissing her suspiscions.
Still though, Svana worried. There was always worry.
---
The clan was wonderful. Her own children had found other homes, except for Somnus who elected to stay behind to babysit hatchlings. The hatchlings she had taken in were grown, most of them parents already, or planning on it.
Her patchy fur was growing back in, Veiros was training younger dragons how to fight...
He looked so dazzling in his new skin...
She was ready to mate again. She wanted to. She glanced to the hoard. Treasure was still a problem, and she wanted genes for her and Veiros. Some of the older dragons who had joined them didn't want to listen to ungened leaders...
