This cream colored dragon is the eldest daughter, or first hatched, from Meraiol and Pinesnow’s first clutch of dragonlings. Despite only being hours older than her younger sister Grayna, Salen lords this over the ranger, and in turn, Salen pretends to be older than she actually is. Despite her arrogant and sometimes cruel form of playing, Salen’s loved ones know that she loves them with all her dragonheart.

Salen’s loyalty and stubbornness displayed itself very quickly upon her birth. Unlike most dragonlings, whose personality may be demure after first hatching, Salen was most definitely not one of them. Pinesnow, meaning well, went to help his other hatchling from her egg, and was startled when Salen attacked him. Mera, appalled at her newest hatchlings behavior, breathed smoke at her daughter in warning, and even then Salen would not move from her sister’s egg. The mirror mother then understood. Grayna would come when she was ready, and until then her sister would wait. The hatchling and her parents waited for almost six hours before Grayna’s ginger ears popped up. After emerging, Salen slept.

Fully grown, Salen followed in her mother’s and adoptive brother’s footsteps of magic and trickery, but preferred to take a gentler, aesthetically pleasing approach. Using her magic, the mirror decided whether to use her powers of illusion to help heal the mind, to break the mind, and cause all manners of emotion in between. The dragoness uses this on her own mother, much to Meraiol’s annoyance, her prickly sister Grayna, and that of her mate, Talin Darkthorn.

Salen refuses to become the leader of Clan Cordiae, so despite being the eldest, the role of clan leader, should her parents die, will fall to Grayna. Salen adores her mother and, despite possessing many of her father's qualities over Mera's, considers herself a mother''s dragonling. However, this does not mean she does not love her father, as she tries her hardest to alleviate the pain and memories of losing his brother. Most of the time now, when not using her talents of healing members of her clan, or helping strangers passing along the road or in towns, Salen enjoys resting on Azandra's back and listening to her talk about her Gladekeeper.

  • As an illusionist, Salen has grand magical abilities and can many anybody see whatever she wants them to. This can be as small as a eel running towards a dragon, or making a dragon think they’re in another territory.
  • Breathes black acid, but hates it as it’s unseemly.
  • Can use magic offensively, but can not fight physically.

  • Sound mind, but, with her elegant body comes fragile lungs and asthma.
