Ruin was an ambitious dragon that sought to unleash her full potential. She was confident that her Charge was to become a Lightning dragon even more impressive than the Stormcatcher. She took on the Tempest Spire with the help of her companion, Karu, who served the stubborn dragon with unwavering loyalty. That day changed everything. Rather than capture the Spire's power for herself, it injured her body and destroyed her willpower. For her crimes, she was sentenced to an infamous prison called the Tempest Asylum. There, she was placed under the protection of the jail Warden, Nemesis. The Ridgeback manipulated and tortured Ruin until she was but a whimpering creature trapped in his claws. He convinced the Guardian to kill her first mate and hatchling. The act subjected her to madness. Unknown to any Warden within the Asylum, there was a spy that kept a close eye on the terrorized Guardian. Relic, an ancient dragon from the Gladeveins, crept through the dungeons unseen. He grew fond of her, and admired this female that refused to die no matter how close she was driven toward death. When her captor was away, Relic would appear at her side and comfort the Guardian. He remains to be the only sign of hope left for Ruin. The two became mates, and Relic continues to keep a watchful eye on his beloved. He whispers her sweet words of freedom and happiness. He vows to fulfill those promises to her. |
