Biography

Shade had known he was destined to make music from the moment he hatched, and he knew he was destined to spend his life performing with Zephyr from the moment he heard her sing. Together, the pair practiced and perfected their art, establishing themselves as a strong, if not tiny, clan of two.

Once they had amassed enough treasure, Zephyr suggested they invest in the recently closed Opera House, opening it as both a theater and a school for future warrior bards. Ever wanting to support his mate, Shade agreed to combine resources and purchase the theater, provided they instal managers to oversee the day to days, as he has no desire to take up bookkeeping. This freed them to both to pursue their own battles while still overseeing the quality of education provided to their students.

While Zephyr was a born performer, Shade had never been a "social dragon," and despite a love of teaching, had never mastered the art of small talk. Fortunately, artists tend to be a superstitious lot, and the tale of the Phantom of the Opera House had been revived, thanks to the discovery of an underground lake and several caves beneath the Opera House during its renovations. Zephyr suggested he use his reclusive nature to keep their students on their toes simply by wearing a white mask and use only back passages whenever he entered the Opera House.

Lingering in the shows had an additional benefit: Shade was able to silently observe students as they sang or practiced. It was through just such lurking that he discovered the amazing but untrained voice of Lea. Careful to never reveal himself, Shade tutored Lea from the shadows, watching with great pride as both her voice and her career improved. Much to his surprise, Shade has never been happier, having found a balance between private tutelage and doing the thing he loves most, making battle music with his mate.
