"I need to thank you." Hushflower whispered as he stared at the massive serpent. It's skin glowed red like poisonous lava. The creature swung its body around, destroying many of the evacuees' former homes. Hushflower's own sleek purple Imperial dragon skin had a faint red tint.
"For what?" Crimsonflare asked. Her eyebrows rose. "Are you talking about the tree? Again... it was nothing! You owe me nothing!!"
Hushflower shifted his gaze towards Crimsonflare. "I watched in the sidelines as you saved my friend from becoming dragon mush... that is more than enough. I owe you my life!! And as this serpent maws on our land, I WILL NOT STAND DOWN!!"
Crimsonflare watched with awe as Hushflower sprung into the air and charged towards the creature. His wings were carefully angled so that he would shoot towards the serpent as the highest speed.
"FOR CRIM!!!!" He howled at the top of his lungs.
The serpent turned towards the noise and huffed. It twisted it's tail around and knocked Hushflower out of the air. Crimsonflare gasped as the serpent slithered toward the fallen dragon. Hushflower rose as quickly as he could but his left wing had been visibly injured to break his landing. The wing hung at his side as the serpent grew closer and closer.
