The clan I was born into was going through a couple of things when I was growing up. There were debates about if their new leader was going to be all that. My father was one of his backers, and hardly ever spent any time with us kids. Of course our mother did, and it was a really loving clan. They adapted well to anything thrown their way, and were great people to be around. But they only had so much space. I was taken to the Auction House, along with many of my siblings. It isn’t rare to see a few dragons willing to trade the services of their clanmates for other things. Luckily for me, I was one such trade off. I stood beside others similar to myself while prospective buyers walked by. It was degrading, but it was what I was born for.

I met another imperial from a clan that neighbored ours. Brooke was older than I, and was kind and sweet. She didn’t deserve to be paraded around like some object. While I toyed with the idea of breaking the two of us out we were approached by a pearlcatcher and a bognseak. Their clan had been looking for someone to act as an ambassador to the clans of nature. They stopped first before Brooke, remarking at her beautiful scales and the air she carried herself with. It’s thanks to those two, and Brooke that I got out. They took pity on me, I guess and drew me in with them, paying our clans for the both of us. The trip was filled with the clan’s two representatives discussing Brooke’s future role with her. She nodded along, understanding exactly what she had to do. Me? I had no clue. But that was nothing new.
I was quickly introduced to the existing members of the clan, their faces and names rushing by me that I almost couldn’t remember them all. Whenever I forgot they would just smile down at me, and tell me that it was okay, and that all this must be rather overwhelming, and that’ll take time to get used to everything. However, Brooke already had herself an important role in the clan, and was already being sought out for advice and friendship. I quickly found myself lacking everything.

There weren’t many others my age, and those that were, were soon being shipped off to fight alongside clanmates and comrades against the Shade, and it only made me wonder why that couldn’t have been me. I spent my first few weeks in the clan alone, or assisting Brooke with her duties. Sometimes I would go with the gatherers, if only to see some plants that may have resembled my old home that I had started to miss. Often I would think about leaving, but I never did. Brooke would stop me and I’d let her. She’s like a second mother to me, or maybe an older sister. She’s really important and I would always think twice about doing anything that would disappoint her, this time being no different. |
Seeing as I was doing nothing, the higher-ups decreed that I would be their representative in the Southern Icefield during their annual festival. I accepted, though I wasn’t happy. It was freezing there, but to my surprise, the hearts of the locals were warm enough to keep away the chills. I stumbled across an interesting competition, where I made an interesting friend. Though I returned home injured, i felt renewed with the new agreement I had made. It finally felt like I had something to do in my life. Eden agreed to let me be in charge of our inter-clan alliances, considering that I was ‘great at making new friends’ or something like that. Brooke was proud, and that made me glad, but I now had an older brother in Faust, and that was enough for me. I spent half my waking time with the Disillusionists, and while some in my clan may have missed me, I spent much of the rest of it travelling, meeting new people and making connections..
Now, I travel. I’m always seeking new friends and allies, and something about strangers just draw me to them. Meeting dragons both similar, and dissimilar to myself is what keeps me going every day. Of course with my new duties as alliance manager I’m often run off my feet, and I’ve found myself absolutely burnt out on a couple occasions.

Nuntius helps me carry all my messages too and fro. It means I can spend my time talking to my fellow dragons while he focuses on delivering news back home. He’s fast, and has great stamina, and charisma! I think he got half of that from spending so much time with me though. Or maybe I got it from him? Who knows. I’m glad he’s around though, I’d get awfully lonely on some of those flights if he weren’t around.

Allies you say? We have a few, and are always looking for more. If you’re thinking about it feel free to Message Me. Tell me a bit about yourselves and what you’re looking for in an ally and I’m sure we can figure something out!

The Disillusionists
The Crystalline Gala, 2018 had
been intense. It was a great start to the year, and I had chosen to been our clan’s representative there. I wandered about a lot, saw a great many things and experienced a great many times. But the highlight had to have been Fortune’s Game of Wit and Luck. It was there that I met Faustino Dyeus, also known as Faust. He was a fully grown imperial, and dwarfed my still growing self. He was silent, and didn’t really fit into our team. Our team was called ‘Arctic Sea Metal’, and we were known as the ‘supportive bros’. And we were supportive. We even came second! Thanks to our teamwork.
Faust and I didn’t talk much on
the first day. But during the scavenger hunt on the second, we paired together, and managed to find one of the things we needed. I feel like that was the beginning of our beautiful friendship. He might disagree however. He’d probably tell you that he only put up with me, but I know deep down that he cares.

It was sad to leave the event, despite how intense he got. I had actually been eliminated after being electrocuted by some stray wires. Would you believe me if I told you that Faust came to check on me after
the event? Yeah I didn't either, but there you go. As we parted ways at the end of the festival he told me that I should visit some time. He probably meant it as pleasantries, but I took his words and held them close to my heart.
