RedCross was a battlefield medic that crossed paths with Babayaga and Forsythia

Once a brightly colored, devout battlefield medic, RedCross had seen her fair share of gruesome wounds and early death. She was proud of being a healer, and treated every injured dragon she found with the utmost care and respect.
One dark day, RedCross's clan found themselves warring over territory in the Scarred Wasteland. Their enemies lacked honor, and used underhanded trickery and overly-violent tactics in battle. The enemy, led by a blood-colored guardian with striking, bright blue markings, broke through the ranks of RedCross's clanmates and smashed nests, kidnapped hatchlings, killed the elderly, and slaughtered the medic... or so they thought.
All of these heinous war-crimes resulted in a quick defeat, and RedCross was left to die. In the days that passed, the coatl did not die. Her fury for what had happened burned in her chest, though her broken body was unable to cooperate. She wanted to avenge her clan, and her hatred grew for the vile guardian that had led the attack.
Before death could finally claim the starving, weak coatl, she was found by a purple snapper. A black imperial was with this snapper, wearing a crown of bones on her brow. The two of them conjured a mysterious, dark magic that overtook RedCross's body, draining the color from her feathers and left them blank white. This magic was darker than shadow magic, and fiercer than plague. This was shade magic.
RedCross stood on revived feet, her aches and pains gone. Her strength had returned tenfold, and she felt that she could singlehandedly take on a dragon ten times her size-- like the blood-colored guardian with blue markings. Her bloodlust was heavy. Her tongue explored elongated fangs protruding out of her lip, and realized that her bloodlust might be more literal than figurative.
"His name is Wheatley." The snapper said, as though she could read RedCross's mind. The snapper and imperial then explained in detail Wheatley's crimes, and their plan to overthrow him and take charge of his clan. Thrilled at the opportunity, RedCross aligned herself with the two strangers.

VAMPIRE LORE

These Shade-touched vampires have the ability to camouflage into their backgrounds and can appear nearly invisible. Because of this, vampires completely lack their own pigment, and appear white when not actively camouflaging. In order to maintain their strength, they must regularly consume the blood of beasts, animals, or other dragons. They store this blood in their capsule.
With exception to male Ridgebacks, most vampires will aquire blood through elongated, specialized teeth in their mouths. Ridgeback males instead use their probiscus, like a mosquito, to rapidly drain blood.
