Kareivi is one of the two mercenary twins. She and her sister Karys hatched from the same egg, and this rare circumstance seems to have given them an especially strong connection with each other. Their parents were also mercenaries and taught them their craft ever since the sisters were able to stand on their own two legs. As soon as they were old enough they travelled across Sornieth alone, from one job to the other. One day they came across a group of exalted priests of the Tidelord who were being attacked by an Undying Featherback. The twins promptly stepped in, killed the beast, and saved the exalts' lives. Out of gratitude, the priests blessed them with the Tidelord's power and granted them the gift of being able to breathe underwater.

The useful new ability they had supplied them with many new jobs in the Tidelord's domain. Travelling from harbour to harbour, they eventually reached the Searest Port on the Thonis Atoll. There they heard about an amazing Wildclaw warrior who was one of the most powerful fighters around even though she didn't have functioning wings. Their interest was piqued and they searched out Coriolane - because who else would that warrior be - and challenged her to a battle. The twins, renowned warriors by themselves, experienced the first devastating defeat of their lives. Feeling maybe a bit insulted, but definitely very impressed, they thought about their defeat for a while. After that, they decided to make Searest Port their new permanent base of operations. And if a certain Coriolane doesn't live too far away from their den- well, then that is surely just a coincidence.

While her sister specialises in fast attacks and defense, Kareivi has a talent for magic and uses it to make her own attacks very powerful. While her sister shields her or diverts the enemy's attention, Kareivi prepares the finishing blow. She is known for her tidiness and clean finishes. She makes sure fights end very quickly in favour of her and her sister. Kareivi usually tends to stand back when her sister talks to clients as she doesn't like talking to stranger dragons. The two of them can often be seen at Cornix' tavern, where they either search for new clients or relax after a finished job.
