Sidereus

Sidereus has not been formally inducted into Clan Ambrosium, instead happening upon them and simply never moving on again. He contributes what is needed when it comes to gathering and protection, but nothing more. He keeps to himself and rarely speaks to anyone except his familiar. Some say he simply tolerates the clan’s presence, though glimmers of appreciation do make rare appearances in the form of extra delicacies to eat and especially hard to come by medicinal herbs that pop up at random in the hoard. Though he shows no signs of true hostility, hatchlings avoid him and even Lumens gives him a wide berth.

The Imperial is of very obvious Nature descent. He actively practices ancient branches of druidism and shamanism; when he does speak, he often slips into multiple other languages mid-sentence, some that have not been uttered in centuries and others that seem to be just dark tongues from who knows where. Sidereus is an exceptional natural healer and tracker, relying on his own senses, skills, and knowledge rather than common magic. His long-forgotten ways have saved many a member of Clan Ambrosium where magic has failed. However, despite his talents, he faces much scrutiny for his “brutal” and “savage” ways. Animal sacrifices, blood rituals, and chanted incantations in foreign voices for hours or even days at a time are common occurrences in his corner of the lair, but none can deny the results.

Aside from his striking choice of apparel, Sidereus’s most noticeable feature is a deep gash in his shoulder almost to the bone. It is clean and cared for, but always fresh, as if it is routinely cut into over and over again. It never seems to bleed, but the exposed muscle and tissue ripple with his every movement in sickening clarity. Sidereus worships no single deity, instead showing equal devotion to all eleven. His age is unknown, though it is suspected he is exceptionally old, possibly older than even Lumens. He seems to remember things that no one else alive does. He never removes his skull mask, not even when he recoats it in bright paint with symbols of mysterious origin and meaning. It is rumored that it is, in fact, his own skull exposed, and the various bird skulls and feathers he wears are the remains of his past familiars that he has outlived.
