The primary gemstone of January is Garnet. January Birthstone dragons are always XXX garnet crystal, facet, gembond/opal/glimmer. They can be of any breed and of any flight.


January was borne in the ancient lair of Erayidil. From there he traveled East with a trading boat to the Starfall isles, where he stayed for 5 months. His hosting clan, the venerable Ashborne lair of the Obsidian Hollow, made him feel more at home than he ever had in his homeland. The mix of various dragons, misfits, collaborated and made the place homey. Everyone was accepted as long as they overheld the basic rules: help out where it is needed, be respectful of others and praise the Arcanist.

After 5 months, however, he felt restless and decided to bring this new culture back to his old-school homeland. He did, however, not end where he was headed. Instead, the shipping boat set him off at an earlier port because they had miscalculated the amount of cargo they would take in there. So he was stranded further South. He took to the road, and eventually found his home clan in a deep slumber. Everyone was asleep - the dragons, the hatchlings, the familiars, the beastclans. It was as if a spell had struck in the middle of a battle, and no one had since moved in because it felt like intruding. Not even mice ran about.

Horrified, he fled West, and found refuge after a long time in the clan of Sagittariuss, the archer. They did not have a solution to the sleeping spell cast on his clan, but they did offer safety, stability and life lessons. Soon he became a decent gatherer, hunter, warrior and a scolar. He learned astronomy, geography, history, magic, anatomy and much more. His field of expertise, however, was discover very much later. He was able to sense the feelings of an author upon reading their works, be it a text, poem, painting or a sculpture. He collects the pieces he feel holds the strongest emotions, and use them as theraphy when feeling down. He also uses his gift to divide between truth and lies, feeling for guilt in the writer.

A gift from him would typically be a copy of a poem or short story that was written with higly positive thoughts and emotions. He walue his friends greatly, and may be seen as a bit "sticky" for his sweet words. He is a real cutie.

His colors are gorgeous (I adore reds) and his accent just adds to his beauty. Red and hold work so well together and it really makes his colors pop. - Nalabyte (x)
