Beauregard

A beauty born into the clan, Beauregard had her eye on several bachelors as soon as she came of age. She handily wooed Hawthorn, a handsome outsider with whom she raised a nest, but soon moved on to a bigger (well, sort of) prize: her clan's leader.

There was only so much she could do while Mikos was still committed to his co-founder Dianna; but Mikos had greater aspirations which Beauregard encouraged. It was Beauregard who suggested Mikos turn his longing for Skydancer feathers from a passing fancy to a reality; Beauregard who tipped Dianna off to faraway hunts, so that she was gone for hours and her breath stank of meat on her return; Beauregard who spent long hours with Mikos, sorting through piles of unused apparel for the market, blushing prettily when their claws touched.

Eventually her campaign paid off, and Beauregard moved from temptation to full-time mate. Afterwards, however, she found that all the energy she once spent scheming to win her man went into fighting to keep him; when love is a game, it is never truly won.

Now Mikos has been booted down the totem pole, Beauregard is outmatched by the other warriors despite her magical talent, and none of her clanmates take her seriously. (Not that they ever did before - they were just politer about it.) On the bright side, the other bachelorettes aren't vying for Mikos' attention anymore.
