Tinkerer
Roark is an aged tinkerer who is well acquainted with the ancient artifacts from in the Shifting Expanse. Currently, he appraises items excavated from the ruins beneath Alihar. He shares a long history with Aiden, though it is often difficult to learn the details over their bickering.
History- In his youth, Roark had been an avid explorer. However, he was unsatisfied with the meager discoveries he made, usually just small caches of ancient wares or the remnants of burial grounds. While enough to make a living on, it hardly satiated his desire for something that would leave all of dragonkind in awe.
Hearing that strange chambers and grand automatons had been unearthed in the Shifting Expanse, Roark saw this as the opportunity he'd been seeking. He and Aiden (they'd met years prior at an underground market) flew to the lightning territory, hot on the heels of archaeologists who'd actually been hired to excavate the sites.
The conniving duo, undeterred by warnings that unapproved entities would be considered looters, snaked their way around the less populated ruins. The remains of the ancient subterranean cities held dozens of secrets, some with a fierce grip and deadly reward. Nevertheless, all oddities fell before the might of curiosity. Except one.
This final mystery surrounding a peculiar puzzle-locked gate has yet to be resolved, but Roark is unwilling to accept this. Now far into the latter half of his life, he remains dogged in locating, or perhaps recreating, the necessary key.

Personality- Old and crotchety, Roark is quick to snap at anyone who interrupts him, including his mate. That said, he does appreciate any company he receives, so long as it doesn't slow his progress. He takes his work with the utmost seriousness, as any artifact could be the one he's searching for.
He is also quite meticulous about sorting the trinkets he's come to possess over the decades and becomes exceptionally agitated when items are moved without his knowledge. Since most everything uncovered from the ruins is filtered through him, he has accumulated a substantial collection.
When not absorbed at his workbench or in a passive-aggressive conversation with Aiden, Roark is happy to disseminate his knowledge of the extinct civilization that once lived in the Shifting Expanse.
