Envoy was once one of the most well-respected doctors in all the land. She had only one problem, it was that she hated death. Sure the spirit went to serve the deities but they leave behind a perfectly good body that can be fixed if they gave her enough time. Necromancy was an obvious pick for her. Soon, dragons began to turn on her. They said things like their family member is falling apart at the seams or that it was the wrong dragon. That's impossible though because she is the best at what she does. She decided to go on the run by joining a carnival that mostly employed Nocturnes. She blended right in and was put to work as a sideshow act. She would bring back familiars from the dead. Just small things that could be explained away by trickery or illusion. It was there that she met Ralel. She knew instantly that Ralel was the product of necromancy. Whoever did it must have been a beginner who was scared off when they understood what they created. Ralel is a creature that lives in the moment. She doesn't care about the past and only cares about her current desires. Envoy looked down on the creature. It was such a basic being yet something about her was so interesting. Maybe it was the fact that she was so wild that attracted her. Envoy began taking more duties to be near her and soon became the Imperial's main caretaker.  |
