KING  Soother and Dantris grew up together, and so love came easily after. Together they founded the clan, originally named The Shadowdancers. At first they were eager to have children, but as time passed all of them left to serve their lords, the higher dragons. In the end, Soother turned from parenting and focused entirely on her own clan. Dantris has always been quiet, preferring to leave decisions to the steadfast Soother and spend his time bonding with the rest of his subjects. A great deal of the time he can be found with Xanthos, his best friend and something of a guardian angel when it comes to giving advice. The two will often sit at night and watch the stars together. Or Dantris will watch, and Xanthos will quietly go about his work under the moonlight. Lately Danris has found himself undergoing many changes. From a Guardian to a Fae, with constantly changing colours. The surprising onset has left him unsure of who he truly is, and who it is that he wants to be. Of late he has felt nothing but a sense of wrongness within himself, and no advice or comfort from his friends can help abate the feeling that he isn't truly living as he is meant to be just yet. With the new discord within Dantris, arose the need to begin covering the body he was unhappy with. He took to wrapping himself in linen, only donning clothes atop of this when his clanmates began to worry for him. Some months passed, and Dantris began undergoing a change. It wasn't just him, though. Seeing his depression, Soother had sent word to the ranger Korrin, who in turn had returned home with the secrets of breed changing. Together the mates began Wildclaws, effectively shrugging off their old skins to embrace a new 'them'. In his new form, Dantris couldn't be happier. Not only that, his gratitude to Soother is immense. Since she had given birth to Hook, her illegitimate daughter, he had, had trouble trusting in his mate. Her selflessness was helping to change that. - - - -- The pair were travelers for many a year, gaining an ally in the Imperial Miyuki after rescuing her from a short scuffle with one of the Beastclans. Together the trio continued on, eventually stopping when Dantris fell into a yawning chasm on the outskirts of Dragonhome. With no choice but to follow him, Soother and Miyuki made their way down the steep incline and quickly found themselves trapped, the twisting cavern too difficult to climb back out, and too small to allow flight. Instead they found themselves staring at a twisting maze of stone and darkness, which they had no choice but to navigate. It was Miyuki that discovered the Hanging Flat, after days of wandering the maze. A roaring sound alerted the three to some form of exit, and following Miyuki's keen ears, Soother stepped out onto a ledge that emerged from behind a waterfall. Before them lay a valley of soft grass, dotted with small white blossoms. Above them the sky was open, the rocky chasm forming in such a way as to hide the space from above. The decision was unanimous. This was to be their new home, and it was here that Soother and Dantris formed Kingdom. |
