Stalking the night and resting during the day, Marwolaeth soon became a threat to the Kingdom of Aavsos and surrounding kingdoms. Livestock went missing in the night, and soon stories of a 'hatchling stealer' were known throughout every kingdom in the area. It wasn't that Marwolaeth actually stole hatchlings, but with stories of the livestock he'd preyed on spreading like wildfire, the young dragon soon found parents were spreading new stories of him to make sure their children didn't stray too far or go out in the dark by themselves. | He does occasionally run across a stray hatchling, but he only gives them a fright and makes sure they get back to their home before he continues on his way. His soft spot for hatchlings has caused new rumors to arise, started by youngsters saying he's actually a protector. | Many hatchlings who encountered him in their youth have never seen him again, forcing them to believe, as they grow older, that the monster they saw never actually existed. While viewed as a protector to these hatchlings when they were younger, as they grew into older and encountered bad luck at every corner, a new story has begun to spread that anyone who sees this dragon will have a life of misfortune (it's all coincidental though as some hatchlings who have seen him have never had this issue).
