THE TORMENTED OUTCAST

No one understands the meaning of “burden” at Sakura Falls more than The Red One, or TRO, himself. Born with a cursed disease presenting as black stripes across his back, TRO has slowly been losing his sanity as a result of this rare affliction. He’s very fierce, savage, and direct, appearing to be very selfish and blinded by his rage and bitterness. As a water dragon, TRO was expected to be wise and mighty, but he resembled a plague dragon even without the disease slowly stealing his life away and he was abandoned by his clan leader as a result. Over the years, he's sought nothing but a cure for his curse, longing to be restored to his family and people one day. He is incredibly persistence and tenacious and exceedingly loyal, viewing treachery as the vilest of crimes and the root of many wrongdoings. As a result of his disease, he has lost much of his eyesight, hence he will never look anyone directly in the eye, navigating largely through sound and smell. TRO hardly eats and drinks and, due to his blindness, cannot tolerate light and is largely nocturnal. The most painful loss for him, however, is his increasing loss of past memories and clouded thinking, leading to ill-tempered snaps and an increase in thinking as he tries to recollect his past. |

It was a few winters ago when Toothless found TRO, betrayed by his own gang of bandits when they had discovered that TRO's disease was slowly crippling him. Toothless took the dying dragon in and, with the help of the physician team (currently, Jinni and Jongi), TRO was saved. TRO truly respects Toothless and Hester, and Chicory, as well, whom he understands is kind-hearted and down-to-earth. He also is good friends with Causter, if "friends" is the right term for it - she will dress his wounds and scars every night and coach him into being more jovial (though that hasn't worked), acting like an older sister or mother of sorts (he probably really appreciates it). Despite being very intelligent and keen, TRO ended up being manipulated by Mako into joining the Dark Shadows under the promise of a cure from Gavrika's return. "When the great Gavrika returns from exaltation, she will cure you of your disease and reunite you with your clan and family - whole again! Do you not want to see your family again?" TRO never intends to betray Toothless so Mako conveniently leaves that fact out. TRO hates Nightskies and Bongki for their sadistic cruelty and gets along best with Causter, Toothless, and Chicory. |
