She shines like fire, yet carries with her the luck of the sea.

Once upon a time, Hoderi was a fisher. She spent her days on the sea with Guardians, but grew jealous of a friend she once had onshore, Hoori - for he could hunt during rain or shine, but Hoderi could only fish when waters were calm. Angry, she demanded they trade jobs; Hoori agreed, only to be subjugated to bad luck. Hoderi's hook, which she had given to him, got lost in the sea one day, and this only further angered her. Hoori married into a family of powerful underwater guardians, who graciously recovered the hook and gave to him the power to wield tides; he returned to the surface to give her the hook. When Hoderi, consumed by anger and jealousy, tried to kill him, she nearly drowned in the high tides he had summoned to fight her, and pleaded for him to spare her; Hoori obliged. Humbled by his power and gracious attitude, she vowed to form a powerful guard of dragons to protect him and any in his lineage. To this day, she leads this guard, and still carries with her the hook he returned so that she may never forget what her duties are. When Hoori returned from the sea after three years time, she gladly took up arms at his side, and they left into the world to make names for themselves.

A now far more humbled Shogun of War, Hoderi rules the Hanakaze Empire alongside her friend, managing defenses of their territories.
