Bloodia
- the Revived Love

She has been Pacer's mate for ages, and they couldn't live without each other. But Bloodia had been born with an illness that kept gnawing away at her, killing her slowly but steadily. One crucial day, she fainted - her mate had been at work in another part of their lair. By the time he found her, it was too late. She wouldn't wake up anymore.

Pacer, driven by his loss, started experiment after experiment to overcome death himself. He was the greatest healer there was, so he was sure he could so it.
One of those experiments went wrong. He fused his body cells with a dangerous liquid, cursing him to be avoided by everyone around him. In exchange for what he lived for - his work with other dragons - he got back his love.

He soon discovered that the "failed" experiment - fusing his life with a pair of collars that would allow him to revive his mate - was actually a success. When he put the collar on himself and Bloodia, she came back to life.

The collars connect their bodys on a level way more complex anyone could understand. (Maybe ask Arcanist, he'd surely love to puzzle about it.)
As long as they wear the collars, none of them can die - but should one of the collars be damaged, they both would lose their lives.
