Past
Bounty Hunter; Lost 
During his life, Vandula was a renowned bounty hunter. He kept within the borders of The Sea of a Thousand Currents; he made it known where he could be found, within the underwater caves that housed the black market of the sea. His price for a meeting was to pay his tab, no slim bill, and only rose once an order was actually in place. But dragons knew, despite his small stature, Vandula got the job done. He stayed true to his reputation to the very end. A dying Guardian ended his life, as they succumbed to the poison that Vandula had added into their meal. They swore they would not go down alone, and their will was strong. Snatched from the air before he could escape, he was crushed under the weight of the perished Guardian, and trapped under their corpse till he himself joined their fate. Current Waking an as undead being was a shock, and for the first few weeks of his re-birth, he wandered thinking he was a sort of ghost. When other dragons made it clear with their shock and horror that he was visible, he learned that he was more than just a lost spirit. Vandula had sustained minimal damage while perished, though crabs had picked the skin of his face clean, leaving him with a bare skull. Otherwise, he was still his same self, which came as both a shock and a relief. He is still unsure what brought him back; necromancy, estranged magics, some second chance from the Gods; he tries not to think about it. All that matters is that he returned, and with all his memories in tacked. That said, with this came the memory of his death, and the pain of his demise. Vandula retired from his bounty hunting, and ashamed of his horrific appearance, traveled to the only place he figured he could hide away his disfigurement. The Tangled Woods offered him shelter, and The Sheep Clan offered him alcohol to drown away his previous life. If he had drank too much before, nowadays his bad habit should kill him. As it turns out, being a living corpse adds some resilience to your bones. It became much harder to get drunk, as well, but that's hardly stopping him. Vandula works as an entertainer, showing off old hunting practices and spinning tales of his old life. In return, he can pay his taxes, and his bar tabs, with relative ease. On occasion, he gets someone looking for the past killer within him, or an apprentice seeking tips; he does not take kindly to reminders of his past, and those who bring it up and sent running. N/A |
