Radio

Radio and his mate Video are not true natives at Swamp Trail. They came to the Viridian Labyrinth from the Shifting Expanse, where they were once respected scientists. An unusual disaster occurred after they had successfully assembled the first functioning time machine, the completed product of their life's work. One of the Stormcatcher's employees who was building the machine misread a minor part of Radio and Video's blueprint, causing the time and space functions to perform unreliably. Despite inconclusive testing (some test employees are still unaccounted for), Radio and Video knew that the only way for them to know for sure if their project was a success was to try it for themselves. They attempted to visit the Shifting Expanse 10 years in the future, but instead ended up in the Viridian Labyrinth 15 years in the past. The wreckage of their machine remains unpaired deep in the swamp where it dropped them.

After their arrival at Swamp Trail, they received quite a bit of trouble from the Prince's guards and their story was not an easy one to believe. Since they clearly meant no harm and were more shaken up than anything else, Prince Elias found that he could not keep them in his guards' custody.

Despite their desire to return home, both Radio and his mate have made the best of the situation by making themselves at home in the mean time. The accident seems to have caused Radio a fair amount of mental damage and he struggles to communicate with other dragons. Everyone at Swamp Trail knows when Radio is nearby because he is always humming. He says that it's his favorite tune, which brings skeptical looks from other dragons because it's different every time. Radio is also persistently curious and feels the need to touch everything he examines, including any dragon he might be talking to. Despite the annoyance this causes, Radio's uplifting and innocent personality saves him from most of the other dragons' anger.
