Terrifying and darker than the night Keres is shade touched and virulent. They are close friends with Sylph who treats them during and after possessions. Despite their shade-touched fits they still try to keep control of them self, and worship their deity. Keres feels that they owe their life to the Arcanist, and Altair, who welcomed them into the Astrolabe Sanctuary. A shell of their former self, Keres remembers very little of their life before they got possessed by the shade, in fact the only thing they clearly remember is that they were a scribe. After getting settled into the Sanctuary they started to write the lore of the Sanctuary with the guidance of Altair and the now late Callisto. They filled the role easily and they started to branch out into other far more ancient and difficult to translate texts. The first ancient text they translated mapped out the full history of the Sanctuary, and it included many star charts of important dates. Keres continues to study these texts hoping to find an arcane cure to their possession. Keres was accompanied only by Altair, Callisto, and Sylph for most of their first year within the Sanctuary. After Callisto's death Keres fell into a depression, Callisto had been a kind and nurturing mentor to them, and Altair grew distant as well. They threw them self into their work and thought of little else, as a result they hardly noticed any changes within the Sanctuary. One evening after Sylph had brought Keres their medicine, a new dragon had come to the Sanctuary, an imperial named Erchius. Many dragons had come and gone, but Keres was drawn to their charismatic nature because it was a stark contrast to their usual experience with imperials. Keres started to leave their personal study more and spend more time in the more populated areas of the Sanctuary. Sylph introduced them to Scout, a wildclaw who had been courting her for a few months. They vaguely remembered Sylph joking about a persistent wildclaw a few times. Over time Scout and Keres became close friends, and Erchius as well. Half a year had passed and Keres started to become more affectionate to Erchius, and so they started to court her. She accepted their gestures and they became a pair. Erchius, Keres and Scout often hunt together that's how Keres got their familiar Nox. Their hunting party was traversing through the swamps when they came upon a lame, half-drowned swamphaunt kelpie. Keres felt sorry for the creature and brought it back to the Sanctuary where it now stays with them. |
