B I O G R A P H Y

______ From a young age, Duski was taught that she was to be seen and not heard. It was only proper for a female noble of her family's standing. She was trained in how best to use her natural abilities to read a room and the others in it; then how to use that knowledge to her family's advantage. She was told of the horrors involved in taking after her aunt's love for the arcana and all that comes with it. Warned that she too would be unwanted and cast out from the only life she knew.

______ Still, Duski couldn't help but be drawn in by the allure of the life her aunt had sought. A freedom not afforded to her in the 'world' she was meant to stay in. It helped that she seemed to have a natural affinity towards the practice. So she set out in her aunt's footsteps in secret; conforming to the role her parents had set out for her by day and greedily learning the craft in the darkest hours of the night; when the glow of magic in her eyes wouldn't draw unnecessary attention. Her luck in this dual lifestyle wasn't to last; like many others of her stature she was set to be wed to a noble of a higher standard. Her lifestyle would be a replica of her mother's, a kept thing that was never to have its own voice, mind, or things.

______ So on the first moonless night, she abandoned her family legacy and spirited away, aided by the Will o' the Wisps she had grown to know in her practices. Though she knew of the ways the local flora and fauna could aide in her, she was still not prepared for the toll of this lifestyle. It was Fairy who found her and who took no time in offering a place within her clan for Duski; regardless of the fact that Duski did not verbally communicate with either clan leaders

It took some time for Duski to unlearn the forced habits she had grown up with. Her practice helped with some of it, while the acceptance and care of those who now surrounded her guided her the rest of the way. She grew into a confident, well-learned witch; one who had even taken on an apprentice that she felt comfortable speaking around. It was a few short years afterwards that she found a mate; another who didn't mind her preferred silence, yet someone she felt free to speak around. The freedom that her practice granted her came at a cost of leaving a lifestyle behind, but Duski was certain this new life and family were the better outcome.
