Ice Subspecies: North Star

They never come to those who are looking for them. These are mysterious creatures that say little, but words with more volume than the depths that surround the Southern Ice Fields. They only approach those who have lost hope. The dragons who no longer know their way and are lost to the cold darkness in their hearts. North Stars lead the way back to salvation and offer a glimmer of happiness to dragons that have not known it. They are attracted to cold places of desolation where a certain sadness seems to linger. North Stars see themselves as guides to betterment and self understanding. Dragons that have been visited by these beings feel a new sense of calm and resolution they may not have had before. Much of what the North Stars do outside of helping others is a mystery as is the magic that surrounds them and their reason for doing so. Many wonder if they are specters, spirits of another world, or something else together. When it comes to the North Stars there are often more answers than questions.

The whereabouts to where they live are mostly unknown. It’s believed that they tend to be attracted to high places where it is the coldest. Their glimmered underbellies often make them look like the stars themselves as they fly. While in cases of extreme tragedy there may be more than one North Star attracted to a single dragon to offer help and guidance, they tend to confront most dragons alone. It is believed that they do however flock together in their home of choice. They are very peaceful creatures and shy away from conflict.
