But he was soft and gentle, deep inside; his body strong but no malice in his eyes. He was a saint, and violence he denied. He refused to send anyone to their demise. His parents were greatly angered; they'd raised him to be strong. He told them of kindness and they replied that he was wrong. They refused to listen to his words, thinking them absurd; brought him up the way they wanted, not the way that he deserved. So he grew to be tough, he learned to bluff; he learned to violent, to be rough. He held his head high and his voice was gruff. Spoke his words in a menacing huff. |

But deep inside, he wanted none of this; thus he decided to run away. Save violence for another day, kindness was his chosen way. Yet leaving was not so easy, his parents gave chase; summoned all their minions, creatures of all race. He rushed out of the Shrieking Wilds with the whole gang on his tail; he cried as he ran, leaving tears in his trail. Across the eleven lands, he sought for shelter; endured freezing winters and summer's swelter. He crossed the Scarred Wasteland, hoping the chase would end; staggered his way into Arcane land. Into a sparkling forest that caught his eye, he hid himself in the purple woods as his pursuers rushed by. Wandered deeper into the Star Wood Strand, lost and not expecting a single helping hand. He walked and stumbled and ran and tripped, his scales were marred and his travelling cloak ripped. Deeper still he went, lowering his head; till a sudden thing brought his journey to end. A battered thing, a plushie worn of cloth. Adorable looking, soft as the wings of a moth. He leaned down, sat beside; not knowing by it his fate was decide. A single touch, he was transformed - or rather, his inner self was revealed; was born. A sudden urge gripped him by the soul, told him collecting cute things was his goal. On that day, he found his true self revealed; shining with a brightness he no longer cared to conceal. The plushie's magic boosted his heart by far - no longer did he have to raise his guard. With the doll, he himself he could define. He could look at a plushie and tell world "this is mine." He could look in a mirror and say, "this is me". He was, after all, only whom he chose to be. |
