Isapoinhkyaki

Isapoinhkyaki is my given name - it means 'singing crow woman' in Inuit - but Isa is fine. I was born on the winter solstice. After a time of wandering in the world, my wings lost their irradiated edge and became imbued with the appearance of the night sky through thin sheets of ice.

I came to the current clan after meeting its head chef during the Crystalline Gala of 2018. In August 2018, I received intensive battle training in the lair of CyborgCondesce.

Isapoinhkyaki is quiet and reserved around others, but she has a curious and experimental nature to her. She is willing to explore her abilities and her world. She is a hard worker but not much of a team player, as she gets stressed out around others and can freeze. She can also turn aggressive when stressed or anxious, leading to her magic becoming uncontrollable.

Isa prefers to be alone and out and about rather than stuck indoors. She enjoys long walks or flights and being outside. She likes how peaceful and quiet it can be. When she is alone, she enjoys singing. Due to her almost complete lack of social skills and social anxiety, Isa likes gathering food for the clan and serving as the geologist, cartographer, and astrologist. Isa has excellent observational skills.

Isa was a quiet student but it was hard to hold this daydreamer's attention, which caused a lot of friction between student and mentor. Isa is unable to control her magic properly and will let loose random bits of magic when she feels threatened, just like some lizards will drop their tail. The runes across her body start to glow when she uses magic. They also help to indicate her mood and get brighter when she is happy or darker when she is sad or angry.

The young dragonelle's inability to control her magic came to a head with combat training. While she was good at it, she was too unpredictable with her magic, and therefore training ceased. Isa has tried to control her magic but little seems to help except for singing, as it helps her to relax and keep calm. While this form of meditation is effective for most situations, it is not useful for sudden or extreme stressors.

Isa was lucky that she passed her exam. Despite her best efforts to keep her nerves under control, her magical outbursts caused problems. When she had to read, interpret, and send a message for one test, a magical outburst caused her to misspell her response, making it funny and odd: instead of responding to a call for help, she ordered food instead. The test that probably saved her was actually combat, even though for health and safety reasons, she didn't practice combat much during training due to her inability to control magic when she felt threatened.

A fearsome hydra was her opponent for the combat test, and it looked like the fight was drawing to a close. She was too tired to fly and had tripped while trying to dodge another attack. Just as the beast was going to strike, her magic created a perfect force-field of electrifying energy around her. Isa was able to seize her opportunity and blasted the creature with a huge bolt of energy, securing her victory and pass. Her raw ability with magic has attracted much attention, which she hates. She doesn't want to be used; she wants to be free. She grows increasingly tired of being a part of the service and yearns for her freedom. At times, she wishes she had failed and looks to get away.
