Biography

Uh-oh, looks like this lil' pastel dumpling wandered a little too far from his home lair (#328177, DemonChild77), and now he's off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt, he'd really appreciate it if you could just return him to the home lair, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here. This is not necessary, but he would be very grateful!

Why did little Yahir always have to be so curious? He had just gotten to a new lair that day, and he was so excited! Fire was nothing like water, and the little hatchling was eager to explore. However, when he did so, he had gotten himself lost! Try as he might, the hatchling could not figure out how to get back to his home lair. He merely got farther and farther away until he wasn't in Fire territory at all! Oh well, at least on his quest to find his clan again he could explore the outside world at last!

Poor Yahir! Unknowingly walking away from the Molten Scar made him cross the border into the Wind territory where the strong wind started thrashing him around. Young Skydancer, being the inexperienced flyer, couldn't fight his way out into the calmer currents and ended up slamming the ground with such force he lost consciousness.
When he woke up, first things he saw were green bushes all around, cloaking him from the blowing wind. Next to him was a big leaf serving as a plate, covered in Cliff Lions, raspberries, Cliffside Milkweed. Whoever left them wasn't around right now. Yahir's stomach growled... Without a second thought, he cleaned the leaf of all the food, and it was delicious.
Unfortunately, the mysterious caretaker never showed up so Yahir took off, but this time on foot. Perhaps he'll run into him/her/them along the way.
--
Weeks passed. Yahir was no longer a small lost hatchling, he grew into an impressive Skydancer that'll keep on growing. Spending all this time traversing through the Wind territory, he passed many clans, learned a bit about their history and was gifted a piece of clothing he looked rather posh in. "Girls will like it." was all he heard as he put it on. He wasn't quite interested in breeding yet, but with time... Perhaps. For now, he took interest in the history of this world, of the many clans inhabiting it and the origins of their deities. This will give him something to do before he decides to return home.

When taking a rest in a thought-to-be-abandoned lair, poor Yahir was surprised to find life two days into his stay. Thankfully, the inhabitants were kind ones, but they were waking from a long slumber and their organization was... lacking. For a brief time, he enjoyed the scramble of gathering resources and attempting to build a life with these dragons that were rebuilding their own. The entire time, however, something just felt off. As expected, his gifted vest had gained him a couple of curious gazes, but no pretty little lady fancied it enough to come forward. Realizing his curiosity outburned his inclination to belong, Yahir continued on his way. Perhaps this time to find a more interested eye. Before setting off, his newly made acquaintances gifted him some spurs. "You can tell a lot about a dragon based on the way they're dressed," one of them told him. Wise words... or at least, he assumed they were. Off the Skydancer went, in search of new adventures.

Yahir’s journey has led him through many clans. Finally reaching the sea of a thousand currents. Yahir stumbled upon the clan know to the tsunami flats as Rosesinity Burrow, quite an odd name for a clan, but none-the-less, a wonderful lively place. Yahirs vest, of which he has constantly worn through his travels finally caught the attention of a few lovely ladies in the clan. Although yahir was quite ready to settle down, he decided to work in his skills as a “ladies man”. He spent a lot of his time after one particular female named, Kallisto caught his undivided attention. She was the Juliet to his Romeo in a way. But this little love story had a twist of sorts. His little kallisto wasn’t you average oracle, no she was being in witch-doctoring on the side as well by the great plague-witch Niorra. So chasing after someone who could possibly curse him if he dare make a wrong move? Yahir thought it best to drop his obsessiveness over kallisto and just be friends.

His short stay in Rosesinity Burrow was a good one. But the wanderlust yet again returned to him as he felt the need to set off for a new destination.

Home. The word felt odd on the tongue of one whom had travelled all his life, but that was surely the first thing that came to Yahir's mind as a storm drove him back to the Molten Scar once more. He even managed to find the clan he had gotten lost from. Euphoria the Pearlcatcher was the first to remember him since she looked after the hatchlings, and she was overjoyed to see him again, although he had come at a very bad time.

Revolution was stirring. While he was gone, the king's rule had become tyrannical and restricting, forcing all to obey him. Yahir was forced to stay in town by the cruel travel restrictions, but he made it work. Luckily, the old matriarch returned to knock the greedy coatl down a notch and reclaim her clan.

She began fixing things almost immediately, to everyone's relief. They were to be leaving soon and heading to the Sunbeam Ruins to help with the Emperor problem, and Yahir certainly didn't want to stay for that. He bid them farewell and took to the skies, wondering if it might have been a good thing that he got lost.

After wandering for some time, he came across a clan in The Viridian Labyrinth. All the dragons welcomed him and introduced themselves. All kinds of oddly colored dragon called that clan home. All this talk about home got him thinking again about his 'home' did he really have one? Of course, he did! At least a place where he came from.

After talking some more to all the residents he found out he wasn't the only Traveler that has come to the clan. Many dragons have stopped by only to leave days later. He met two dragons, Mates that have been traveling for some time and had stopped by, Another lonesome dragon who had gotten there the same day as him. He was told other dragons hatched in this clan had gone on their own travels. He got a few glances from some ladies, but none of them talked to him.

After a couple of days, a mirror approached him and started talking. He had met her before. Her name was Anwen and her brother was one of the dragons who had when his own way and left the clan. Awhile had passed while Yahir was talking to Anwen before he knew it, he had started to like her. He knew it could never happen, with him being a travel and all. But he still thought about it. He thought a lot about asking her to join him and then dreading what would happen if she said no.

A couple days past and he asked Anwen if she could join him on his travels and confessed his feels for her. Anwen apologized and said that she could never leave her clan. Yahir was sad and angry and never wanted to fall for any dragon ever again. He left the clan the same day, hoping he'd never fall for someone in such short amount of time

A short stay in a bustling port city on the Wind/Fire border was his next destination. On the way to practically anywhere of note, it was a popular destination for those who weren't quite sure where they were headed to next. As it was for Yahir; he still wasn't sure what he wanted. Just no more broken hearts.

He padded through the numerous markets and bazaars, marveling at the exotic goods of various flights, and passing skyships overhead that were heading to dock at the main sky mooring. At one such bazaar, a stall loaded with fluttering paper creations called his gaze. Kits, windchimes, streamers, and more fluttered in the perpetual breezes, a cacaphony of color and sound. Approaching, he spied the edges of maps, journals, books, scrolls, and other stationary within. He slowly traipsed through, gently flipping a page or two as the inspiration arose.

He halted before a small book, it's pages decorated on the edges with shimmering, embossed sanddollars and water droplet motifs. He quite liked this book- it appealed to him and almost seemed to speak to him in some sort of deep-reaching manner. He gingerly closed the cover, and ran his fingers over the image of a water droplet that had been pressed into the leather.

Yes. This would be his. He paid the stall owner as if in a daze, and headed back out onto the thoroughfare. He flipped through the pages, wondering how he was going to fill them. He settled onto the edge of a small fountain, pulling out a quill. He absently chewed on the end of the feather as he thought. Finally, he dipped the nib into the ink, and proceeded to write... to write... TO WRITE-

He nearly threw the quill in exasperation- this darn paper was terrible for writing! In frustration, he rubbed at the already-running ink, spreading it still further across the page. He was about to slam the book shut, grinding his teeth over such a terrible purchase, when a peculiar shape caught his eye.

There- in the smeared ink. He peered closer, carefully rubbing more ink across the page as he spied pieces of words and letters. And slowly, as he poured more ink across the paper, a message started to appear.
All that ye seek shall be revealed
Upon release of ancient seals

A beam of sun your starting sign
To unlock the next design

Puzzled, the skydancer attempted to pour more ink onto the following page- to no result. Four pages later, and still nothing. Stumped, he re-read the words, wondering just what the strange journal was trying tell him.
The next clan Yahir came across was by way of sheer accident. He had been trying to avoid Light territory due to the looming threat of the emperor, but he was now forced back into by a howling tempest that raged. As he stumbled into what appeared to be a makeshift camp, he recognized familiar faces and realized he had accidentally crossed paths with his clan again.

They greeted him fondly, and pointed the young skydancer to the largest of the currently constructed shelters. It turned out to be the beginnings of an inn, and the bogsneak manning the counter gave him a room free of charge.

Yahir spent most of the following days with Euphoria, helping out with the hatchlings and trying to puzzle out the journal in the spare periods of time. It was in one of these periods when one of the hatchlings ran into Yahir's inkwell. He picked it up quickly, but the damage was done. To his surprise, however, it had formed into words. Of course! A ray of sun! The hatchery was in the sunniest part of the clan's new territory, and it was noon, so it had shone right down on the page. Yahir read the new words eagerly, hungry for answers.
You've done fine so far,
But the game has only just begun.
If you are not up to par,
This game will not be much fun.

The next clue,
Can be found in the ocean blue.
No matter what you go through,
Just remember to stay true to you.

Yahir packed up almost immediately, the suspense burning. He bid his friends farewell, and Euphoria gave him her lucky wing jewelry as a charm. Yahir thanked her, and set off in search of the Sea of a Thousand Currents, his birthplace.

It didn’t take Yahir long to stumble upon a new clan. He found their tavern first, the Hidden Lantern, an interesting place run by a witch and her husband. The salty air soothed him and his homesickness. While this was not his home clan, just being by the Sea was very comforting. He decided to spend some time here while recharging his travel urges.

Thanks to a mischievous fire starter hatchling; Kolur, accidentally burned this portion of the journal

Yahir has been here for a couple months and he’s feeling the urge to once again venture forth to find new places.
After what felt like years to Yahir, he decided to leave the Water lair he called home for a while. Desperate for adventure, he left toward the Southern Icefeild, fearing that he may not return. After a few days of flying a nasty blizzard struck. He felt like he should turn back.

Yahir then suddenly dropped in front a medium sized lair after his wings froze. He wasn't used to the cold. Suddenly 4 figures appeared outside. Four sisters ran the lair and maintained it's order. The oldest 2 then came up and welcomed him into the warm lair. As he entered, Yahir soon noticed how friendly this lair looked. Despite the cold hearted reputation for the Ice Flight, they treated him with kindness. The four sisters then introduced themselves and their mates, if any. The oldest spoke, "My name is Night and welcome to our Ice/Shadow lair! These are my sisters (Oldest to youngest)." "Hello Traveler, I'm Octave, nice to meet you". "Good day, my name is Skully and this is my mate Phantom". "Hi, I'm DTStorm and this is Kendall"!

Yahir knew he would be here a while. Night then got him a nest and some food for the night. "I hope you enjoy your stay. All we ask is that you help in hunting, caring for the young, and preparing those who are exalted" Simple enough he thought. But who would think that his promise to himself might break? That's what he though until he met Ayrmis. He knew as soon as the nest hatched he couldn't stay. Ayrmis knew this and had accepted it however, she didn't know one of her hatchlings would follow in his footsteps.
