manifestation: safety of the harbour

The Beasts Below - Creatures with draconic shape, yet far removed from actual dragons. Rumoured by some to be the first children of the Tidelord, they are powerful manifestations of Water. While not exactly malevolent, they are certainly terrifying, and depending on which of them one encounters, they may save one's life, be an omen of things to come, or signal impending doom.

"I have not forgotten. I do have your goods."

quiet | nimble | secretive

A very calm dragon, Staubdel is in the employ of Lamont, ensuring the mirror always has all the goods he needs, by hook or by crook. When he is not working for the innkeeper, Staubdel is under the strict supervision of Inruin, keeping the clan's stores all stocked up.

Staubdel knows exactly what is expected of him and would never dream of betraying the trust others put into him, be it in perfectly legal or more shady matters. They ask, Staubdel delivers, and he is nothing if not dependable.

Word of mouth has it that he has good trade relations with some beastclans.

The Trenchguides - These dragons move through the depths without fear or reservation. While sometimes mistaken for one of the beasts below, they are of humble origins, but very well adapted to the abyss, often developing bioluminosity or extra fins.

herald of coming storms

Seafarers speak of a Nocturne, wrapped in dark cloth like a pirate’s flag or a smuggler’s sail, circling ships and judging the worth of their sailors.

An aspiring scholar and an aspiring mage, Averiin sadly exels at neither. His motives are good, but he is easily influenced, and might dabble in things that don't concern him.

He does have quite some talent, but no direction. Constantly asked by various lair members to come up with a spell for this, a charm for that, maybe some help with that formula - well, how is he going to focus?

(the hiss of hot steam)

reliable | hot-tempered | lost

When Fire blacksmiths and Lightning engineers infused a blast furnace with the souls of dragons in a misguided attempt to build a self-sustaining way of propulsion, Engine came into being. In a blast of steam and sparks, she tore through her very creators, escaping onto the open sea.

(the clack of bones, electric sparks)

dutiful | single-minded | joyful

The few dragons who have actually met the Dread Mirror's crew and lived to tell the tale are unsure whether Callie is merely a reanimated husk, no more than a puppet, or something more. The way she tends to the ship's engine seems mechanical and mindless, true, but she finds great joy in travelling, and if one were to look more closely, they'd see the affection she carries for the engine and the ship itself.
Ilrahin, old lore wrote:
Reincarnated into a new form after overexerting his powers, Ilrahin is rather weakened, even though his healing abilites seem to have suffered no loss.

He has kept all his memories (and insecurities, to his dismay) and has retaken his former place as first healer in the clan. Still trying to figure out what he wants to do with his second unlife and struggling with a sense of having to live up to expectations, Ilrahin takes each day as it comes, patiently waiting for when he is needed.

He wonders what became of that hatchling.

There had been an... incident.

He had been overexerting himself, trying his best to save a hatchling he had found in the Tsunami Flats, gravely wounded, lungs filled with water, dying. Ilrahin had always been an amazing healer, his abilities just short of actual resurrection.

Resurrection.... if he himself could cling to life like that, then surely....

(When Ehren and Cathedral finally arrived at the scene, Ilrahin was alone and unconscious, surrounded by small footprints in the sand. There was noone else around to be seen.
Suddenly, the body stirred. Though devoid of all its colours, a spark of light flickered up in the Nocturne's eyesockets, golden as always when using his healing powers, spreading throughout the whole corpse and settling in gleaming runes.
When the glow had somewhat subsided, Ilrahin craned his neck to look at the rescue party.
"Something went wrong, didn't it?")

Ever since Ehren left to fight with the Exalted, Ilrahin has been a little out of it. It's clear that he would have liked to go with his companion, but still he feels bound by his duties to the clan. While there is someone around who still needs him, he could not possibly leave.
Anyway, he has never been very useful in a fight, more of a hindrance to Ehren than anything else, at least that is what he tells himself.

The storm passed
And this web hangs with
Drops
Like jewels

Spheroid diamonds
Trapped amid
A broken silver trellis
Each reflecting
The days that had come
Before

This face which
Was not my face
Is now my face
And I wonder

Little spider
Will we work
To mend what we have lost?

Or should we leave
These telling gems
To fade
And spin a new
Trellis
In the hopes it withstands
The next storm?
