Biography

The First Nocturne found during the Night of the Nocturne festival, Staria's egg was found caught in a tree branch. She hatched in the Night Nest during the Rule of Kash, and was left on her own. Kash didn't care for her, aside from bait to keep Kinder Dragons of the Nest in line. Tisima and the rest of the Song Flock raised her as best they could with Kash in charge.

Staria is the Nocturne Leader. Leading in Secret so as not to draw Kash's wrath, Staria leads her own little Flock called the Auroras. The Auroras are made up of strictly Nocturnes found by the Night Nest during the Night of the Nocturne Migration, the single time of year when Nocturnes soar over Sornieth and leave their eggs for other clans to find.

Under Kash's Rule, None of the new Nocturne Hatchlings are allowed to have Familiars to help them out. Staria has found a way around this however. One of the Dragons brought back a bright blue mask for the Hoard, which Staria took to play with. The Mask came to life in her claws, floating quietly before her. Curious, Staria narrowed her eyes at the floating mask, and began to see very faint wisps of blue-green smoke coming out of the mask.

The Mask floated over other things in the Hoard - shiny lamps that were deemed worthless, Various sizes of what looked like marbles, statues, boxes, and Staria saw each one come to life before her eyes. She took these items and passed them out among the Nocturne Hatchlings.

When Kash or his Family come around the items go lifeless and just sit on the floor. Kash and his parents ignore this, just telling the Nocturnes to clean up their messes. Once the Overlords leave, the items come back to life, giving the Mimics and the Nocturnes a very special kind of bond. Staria continues to search for Mimics brought in and mistaken as treasure when new Nocturne Eggs come into the Night Nest.

Staria spends most of her days with the Auroras, though Young she is considered their leader, and does her job well. Coached by Tisima, the former Ruler of the Night Nest, Staria is always very careful to keep her little band a secret from the Overlords. The fastest flyer of the Auroras, Staria pratices her swift flying every day, in hopes of one day helping to free her clan from the claws of Ice Lord Centauri and his progeny.

She can often be found in the company of a bright blue and white bird-like mask she called Phantom, her Masked Phantom Familiar. Phantom has been mistaken as just a simple toy mask by Centauri and his Family, otherwise Phantom would have never been permitted to bong with Staria. Phantom knows there's something wrong in this clan, so often hides, pretending to just be a simple costume mask. When hiding, Staria will carry the mask in her claws, or wear the mask herself. When Staria wears the mask, Phantom is left floating through her, and he shares his unique sight with the Nocturne, allowing her to find other Mimics to share with her Flock, the Auroras.

Staria and Phantom are inseperable. Staria keeps Phantom's mask from being destroyed, and Phantom shares his ghostly talents with Staria. Together they're building a plan for a better future, but they're going to need all the help they can get...
