Biography

Plumewing

Poison Brewer

Plumewing wandered many clans in her life. As a young dragon she learned that she can brew concoctions and medicines in her clear belly. Her body naturally imbues it with magical energy and gives it magical properties. To her dismay, it was quickly discovered that the magic turned anything she tried to brew toxic. Out of a job, she turned to the black market, the only place her ability would be useful.

If you were doing bad business, the Hewn City was where you went. The crumbling stone town was like a scar on the sunlit landscape, always in shadow as it was. Many of the dragons here were the unsavory sort, and she knew she'd had to watch her step. A pink, sparkly skydancer wasn't going to intimidate anyone in the best of circumstances. She kept her head down and listened in, asking now again about where she may be able to purchase some poisons. Eventually she was directed to a shadow ridgeback who was know to do business deals in "that sort of thing." Eager and cautious, she crept through the dark streets until she found what she was looking for.

She entered a large, crumbling great hall, candles dribbling onto the worn stone floor. Dragons whispered in hushed voices all over the room, some even had tables. Everyone she passed cast a wary glance her way, sizing her up, and discreetly looked away when they determined she wasn't a threat. Looking around, there was only one shadow ridgeback in the room. He sat alone close to the center of the room, where he wouldn't accidentally topple the walls in by a careless motion. He wouldn't have been able to blend into a shadowy corner anyway- he was a brighter pink than she was.

Cautiously she approached him, and asked if he dealt in poisons. He said he could help her out, and settled lower on his haunches so she didn't have to crane her neck up so far. She told him that she could help in mixing poisons, and asked if he knew of anyone looking to hire. He was thoughtful, then told her to come back tomorrow, same time. He may have something for her then. The next day she came back, just like he directed, and he was waiting there. He explained that he knew somebody who could hire, but she'd have to move in with the pack. They were recluse and moved frequently. It wasn't like she had anywhere else to go, or anything to do; she accepted.

He led her into the more wild land of the Sunbeam Ruins, the Hewn City becoming a memory as it passed out of sight. He seemed to relax more then, and explained the situation more that they were away from prying ears. The pack he was taking her to was his pack, and her employer was a skilled herbalist and the leader of the pack. She learned more about her new pack and its members as Geode told her about it all, and they finally reached the lair at nightfall.

Now Plumewing uses her skills to eat the poison herb recipes Viridian gives her. Viridian's poisons are more potent than they ever were, imbued with Light Magic to give it extra properties. The other dragons are strange, especially Viridian and her mate, but this is her home now, and they her pack.
