Snowbell

She was born on a winter's morning
cold Winds rushing over the sea.
Her mother had no warning
about the kind of dragon she would be.

An adventurer's heart lay in her chest,
but she was clumsy and accident prone.
Wandering off and exploring is what she loved best,
even though with many injuries she would return home.

She dreamed of finding buried treasure
and the many interesting dragons she could meet.
Nothing brought her more pleasure
then imagining being recognized for some heroic feat.

Even though she would trip over her own tail,
or get lost on a simple trail,
if asked not to go out thrill seeking she would wail.
She wanted to be the protagonist of a spectacular tale.

No longer able to be contained by the boundaries of her clan,
she finally decided to set off one day.
Her mother insisted on helping her pack and plan,
before tearfully sending her on her way.

So here she is this hero lacking in grace,
following the promises the open road sings.
She simply wants to earn her place,
in the great ballads of legends and kings.
