Danika was found as a lost earth egg by a clan in the Light flight. It was a strange finding, given the distance between the two flights, but the clan hatched and raised her anyway. The young ridgeback would never know her family or her old flight anyway. She believed the Light clan to be her first and only home, being where she was born. However, as she grew up she became more restless. There was no ambition to this group nor was there much room for her to grow.



Still, Danika stuck it out and continued living within the clan. During her time she picked up some basic fighting moves and worked to hone them. The area was peaceful though and there wasn't much need for dragons who could fight. The young ridgeback wasn't sure about leaving her birth clan but the realization her destiny seemed to be elsewhere continued nagging at her mind. In an effort to put some doubt to that feeling, she took on a mate and had a nest. Two hatchlings came from it yet even having a family couldn't tie her to the clan anymore.



Once they were grown, she set off, heading off towards Earth out of curiosity for her elemental flight. She never made it out of Plague. Danika had stopped to rest and been taken in by a growing clan after they spotted her on their territory. The ridgeback had been nervous at first given she'd been caught trespassing, but after an explanation their leader granted her permission to stay. She hadn't meant to stay forever, but in the time she'd spent resting she was able to learn more about this clan and gotten curious. After inquiring about their need for warriors and showing them what handful of tactics she'd picked up in her time travelling, she was offered a position within the border clan.



At first she was only a guard in training. Then, she became a full member of the royal guard and tasked with keeping the Sect of Masks defended. Being located on the borders of Plague and Shadow, the small sub-clan would be the first attacked if enemies came from the Shadow flight. It was rare that it happened but Danika always kept the territory safe. Being the highest ranking dragon in the sub-clan, she also took on the role of the leader.



As time passed and the Clan of Death grew into the Empire of Death, the ridgeback gained an official promotion to Commander. As a commander she was officially put in charge of her sub-clan and given a rank that would put her- and the other commanders- in third command. Should anything happen to their leader and the second in command, she or one of the others would take up those roles. Being the eldest one, she had seniority for leadership but Danika knew that meant little given Lucifi had been put in second command when he was barely more than a hatchling.



It didn't concern her much though. The empire was large and unlikely to be threatened let alone taken down. The ridgeback enjoyed having a say in larger decisions but could never dream of ruling the whole empire like Cerberus. She was still a guard at heart and preferred the smaller role of leading a single sub-clan.
