With parent names like "Quicksilver" and "Pearl", one of the children having a Gem name only makes sense.
Diamond is the middle baby of his sibilings and is a peacekeeper between the Mirror brother and the Pearlcatcher sister. He enjoys hunting with his bro and doesn't mind putting up with more girly stuff for his sister's sake like helping her gather plant things for her lunch. He tries to be the best dragon he can be to everyone: but that doesn't mean he can't fight!
Diamond groaned and grunted in his sleep, huffing little excited breaths here and there. His dreams had been so active lately, so vivid. As a young hatchling, Diamond would often dream of fighting in the Coliseum and reigning undefeated through the ranks. Some nights, he dreamed of his parents, and of his nestmates. This night, however, neither was the case.
Pink danced through his dream, shimmering and sparkling. He could hear a low chanting that seemed far off in the distance, yet strong enough to make his heart thunder with anticipation. He looked around, unable to gain any sense of direction, yet unafraid of whatever that may mean. Lightning arced through the dazzling, glowing pink hues, making jagged white cuts through his vision. His feet danced involuntarily. He looked down, startled to find that he wasn't standing on anything! The air began to warm and swirl around him, gently at first, then began to whip at him from all directions. Diamond blinked rapidly, trying to dispel the haziness in his mind. Then, a glowing crack began to form a short distance from Diamond. The soft, blue-white light shining through cooled Diamond, calmed him. He felt a stirring in his mind as he gazed upon the cool radiance. Then, a voice. 'Diamond,' the voice echoed through space and time, 'hear me. I am the Arcanist. I have a special request of you. Train yourself and hone your abilities. You must protect your clan. Defend your lair. Heed me, young one, do not take my words lightly.' Before Diamond could even almost form a thought, darkness fell around him, silence following closely behind. His mind quieted and he fell into an even, deep sleep, all the while imprinting upon him to absolutely become his strongest. Training would start at dawn. |
