Biography
O-ree-ose
As a hatchling, Orios had been interested to the point of obsession with glass, stained glass specifically.
He liked the way it looked, the way the colours reflected onto the ground when light splayed across it. The Imperial could often be found sitting stoically, his wings spread out at his sides, watching the patterns cast on the huge arcane crystals by his own wings.
Some of his clanmages saw it as strange thatbhe was so interstedbin something so small, but to Orios, it was magical. The mixture of the colour and light, the perfect combination, it was just so nice to look at.
It didn’t take long for him to begin to experiment with his own wings, to see what could really be done with them, what he could do to change the colour and the shapes of the shadows.
Orios would spend hours, entire days, standing still with paints at his sides, materials and cloths wrapped around his paws and wings, all in an attempt to make specific shapes and colours appear on the ground infront of him.
Through this, he realised that wasn’t all he could do.
Orios could manipulate the colours cast, the shapes they were, how they moved, all by changing some aspect of his wings. Through this discovery, he started to create short puppet shows on faraway crystals to amuse the hatchlings of how clan.
They were nothing special to begin with; just a few characters dancing across a made up land in search of some kind of item. Soon however, they became more extravagant, more detailed and well thought out.
He became adept at making slight adjustments to his wings, at creating patterns and changing scenery in a heartbeat to give the best shows, to show each character in his work as special and unique in their own personal light.
His shows ended up well known, with dragons coming from all across Sornieth to see just what all the hype was about, to see what exaxtky people found so spectacular about this particular Imperial’s wing patterns. None were disappointed, they could all see the hype, and they all understood why he was considered so brilliant.
