“What do you mean you're leaving?!”

Swish's voice cracked as she fought back tears. Frost just sighed as her head fins pressed back against her neck.

“I'm sorry Swish -”

“NO!”

Swish couldn't fight the tears back any longer. She wasn't ready to say goodbye. Not yet.

“There is no room for me here anymore Swish. I have to go.”

Swish shook her head violently as she flapped her wings repetitively.

“This isn't fair! It isn't fair that mother is making you leave!”

Frost inched closer to Swish and draped a wing over her.

“She isn't making me leave. We've both agreed it's time.”

“That's garbage and you know it!”

Frost sighed.

“Swish...You've been studying under me since you were born. There isn't a need for two Healers in a clan this size. You are more than capable to take on this role and I am needed elsewhere.”

Swish whirled around and burred her face into Frost's wing, sobbing uncontrollably.

“There there hatchling...everything is going to be just fine.”
