HISTORY

Wither looked up at the mountain, dark as obsidian. Wait. It actually might be obsidian. The glassy surface was smooth under his paws. He had traveled pretty far to reach it, with numerous new scars and bruises to show for it. And that feeling, how he felt unmistakably drawn to the mountain, in all its glory. The red Obelisk turned in a circle, and spotted a cavern entrance. It was a little ominous actually.

"You are a big, mean, brave Obelisk! The strongest of your clan! You can deal with a little cave." Of course, it was possible that he had no clan to return to. He had left without telling anybody. He put those thoughts aside and strode into the cave.

The air was stale, and Wither got the distinct feeling that no one had been down here in quite some time. He walked the passageway, dimly lit by the light of the reddish, phoresent moss growing on the walls around him.But even the moss began to become rarer as he wandered through the twisting caves and tunnels, guided by nothing but a feeling.

And suddenly, the tunnel fell away to reveal an absolutely enormous cave, big enough to host an entire tribe of full-grown Imperials. Wither looked down, nearly falling. For at the bottom of the cave there was a lake, roughly the size of the Sea of a Thousand Currents. And it wasn't a normal lake either.
The ‘'water” was ink-black, with hints of red and crimson. Pinpricks of scarlet light shone from the impossibly deep depths, but Wither was particularly transfixed by two dark green orbs, a color different from anything else in the cavern.

When suddenly, a dragon rose out of the tar, unlike anything he had ever seen. It sort of resembled the Veilspun of myths, but it was much, much too big to be one. Its scales were black and grey, but covered in a neon-green, runic pattern. Its bug-like wings buzzed and its mane fell down around its head. Gigantic talons landed on the edge of the pit, nearly crushing him. It looked at him with huge eyes and said, “Do you bring offerings to the Elderbeasts?”

“E-Elderbeasts?” Wither asked, fear creeping into his voice. “What is an Elderbeast?”

The huge dragon thought on this, flicking it's green eyes back to the other strange dragon that rose from the murk and said. “Us. You?”

“My name is Wither.” He said, as bravely as he could.

The dragon leaned back. “You are hurt. We offer sanctuary. But in exchange…we need offerings.”

“O-offerings?” Wither asked.

“Yess. Food. Treasure. But you will get the chance to start a clan in these protective caverns. We shall allow it.”
