Biography
Times picked for I know That Reference! thread: 6
Drendass; a term used for one who seems open, but is not.
That is the word used by the Inner Rings after the Jester, Drendass. No one really knows where he came from; his lore is a mystery to even the most informed of spies. But gather around, children, gather ‘round; for I am about to tell you the harkening tale of the Jester.
Drendass came about in the records of the clans just around the time Odin forced Chronos and his murderous ways out of the clan; Since they did not know how to live in the harshness of Lightning, they, albeit reluctantly, chose to associate with a band of traders and tricksters for resources.
The leader of this band? The one and only Drendass himself. Playful, he constantly played games onto Odin and Ymir, each one growing more and more destructive than the last. Why? Even I cannot tell you this. But his Majestic Light and his mate of Ice had to endure these games. As the clan grew larger and larger, Odin had gotten a heirmaker slave; he named her Sif and had children with her; they had a relationship of mutual respect, as Sif knew Odin’s heart belonged only to his Ymir.
But alas; it was not to be.
Drendass sought destruction; and destruction he wrought upon the clan. With aid of his friend, he kidnapped Sif from her place above the slaves’ chambers and cruelly toyed with her, digging poisoned claws into flesh and flaying her wings with Odin’s own weapons and when she succumbed to her wounds; he threw her into the middle of the streets. And when the clan found her body! Oh by the gods what a storm! A hurricane! A wrath strong enough to destroy dragons with but a look. Odin was distraught but furious, he knew exactly who had played this ‘joke’ upon him and his dignity. With a battalion of warriors, he descended upon the band of tricksters and slaughtered them all; only leaving Drendass and his friend behind. But had his friend prepared for this! For as soon as Odin raised his paw to strike Drendass’s neck, both him and his friend disappeared in a cloud of smoke, appearing at the very end of the Outer Ring. From there, Seth found them and invited them to join the Court of Shadows; for after all, amoral creatures are always welcome in-
“Clopin, are you seriously telling the children the story again?” Came a voice from atop a tree, looking upon the scenery boredly.
“Well of course! It is always important the next generation knows of the Court. New recruits are always welcome!” He emphasized, looking at the children, suitably engrossed.
Flying down, Drendass idly looked at the children, looking at him with fear and a tinge of fear and grinned a malicious grin.
“Children… would you like to hear another? Perhaps this one will interest you more..”
