You meet a new dragon...
"Watch your head!" comes the call of a Bogsneak. You quickly duck your head as something whizzes over it. Looking towards the source, you find a dark colored Bogsneak, dressed in lab equipment sitting on his haunches. He's smiling brightly, his fins held high with excitement, "Do excuse me!" he continues.

Glancing at his claws, you find that he is holding a controller--likely to the thing that just narrowly missed the top of your scalp. You narrow your eyes for a moment, not at all pleased with the near-accident, though your thoughts are cut short as the contraption whizzes past again. It seemed to be some sort of dragon, though its wings were buzzing more like an insect's! The contraption comes to a slightly bumpy landing just beside the Bogsneak's feet.

His attention to you, the Bogsneak gives a bow of his head, his fins bobbing in an apologetic way, "I must ask that you forgive me," he sighs, "These things are difficult to control when magic isn't involved!"
He does seem earnest, so you give him a nod and a smile. Satisfied with this, he holds out a paw, which you give a gentle shake to, "I am Marius! Pleased to make your acquaintance!"

After introductions are complete your curiosity is soon drawn to the contraption, which was now completely still. Marius quickly takes not of your interest, and his face immediately lights up.
"Were you wondering about my little robot?" he inquires. You give him a nod and he continues with renewed vigor, "It's my latest experiment! I've been testing out ways to control something like this without the direct use of magic. This is the fourth prototype I've created, and the magic used is quite minimal. I've still not managed to completely wean it off of the source, however..."

Marius continues to spurt on and on about the robot, babbling about the mechanics and inner workings of it... All of the information goes over your head, but he eventually takes notice that you're starting to zone out.

"Oh! Pardon me," he grins nervously, "Here I am, talking your ear off when you probably have a place to be! Not to mention that I have work to do... Well, farewell!" the little robot springs to life once more, and it flies off with Marius following suit after it.

History
A shadowing that never quite felt as though he fit into his home clan, Marius found himself finding more fascination in things like his studies and science than he did the darker magical studies of the Obscured Crescent. So when he was old enough to take the world on his own, he left his clan in search of a community with similar ideals. He passed through the Sunbeam Ruins, though he couldn't feel at home underneath the blazing sun; and the type of scholars that made up the lieu didn't do him any favors. His passions were in science, not archaeology and scrolls!

He eventually made his way to the Highland Scrub, learning that the dragons of Lightning there were keen on the progression and study of science. (WIP)

Additional facts
* A being that literally emerged from the shadows. It clawed its way into the light, and there it found an identity: Marius.
* It took some time, but Marius eventually took form. At first he shifted from one form to another as he lived within the Obscured Crescent.
* When he left in search of more, he found Cammy Key, who was at first fearful that he was a malicious creature. However, they hit it off.
* After meeting Cammy and with the assistance of alchemy, he took the form of a Bogsneak, and has remained in that shape since.

Marius was actually based off of a personal interpretation of W.D. Gaster that I RPd as many years ago! Once I moved on from Undertale, I felt it a shame to just let go of the ideas I had for his character, and converted him into Marius. Since then his story has deviated significantly from Gaster's, but that's ok! I love him a lot for it!
