Denglong is teased by her husband, ShiBao, and son, Tianshi, about her color scheme. Her name which literally translates to Lantern in Chinese, reflects her yellow and red coloring that according to them, resembled a red lantern with a yellow flame. She doesn’t like being called a lantern and tries her best to annoy them back when they bring it up…
Born to a hatchery and chosen by Lira, she was raised in the nursery among her clanmates and right behind ShiBao. Her husband, only older than her by 6 days, was one of her best friends when she came to the clan and the two of them got along very well. She tries to get along with all her clanmates, but there are the few that she knows she will never be able to befriend and that’s okay with her. When deciding a career, she really had no idea. She was considering being a merchant, but at the time, there was no merchant to teach her the craft. So, slightly discouraged by that fact, she decided to become an entertainer. Later, when Alinafe and Norman started training dragons formally for the Night Guard, she decided to apply and join. Now she defends her clan as well as she sings her own songs for her friends and family. She used to be shy and humble, but now she’s loosened up. She’s pretty straight-forward nowadays and jokes about everything, even while on duty on her shifts. She hates to lie unless absolutely necessary and sees honesty as a form of loyalty. She respects her elders and tries to live up to their expectations (even if she is, in a way, an elder of the Cat’s) while also not accidentally pranking the wrong dragon. |
