 "I am too young to understand the actions of our god, but his intentions seem more akin to a cruel tyrant than a protective guardian in the sky." ~ Lucca Lucca is Zal'tala's only remaining offspring. He was born a runt, weak in heart and body. When his two sisters perished, he was distraught beyond belief, blaming himself, for had he been bigger and stronger, he feels he could have saved them. Currently, he tries his best to avenge them, but there's only so much one of his size can do without help.  He emerged from the small egg a sickly, pale hatchling. The vibrant shades of his parents only a hint of green on his otherwise gray body. Not a sound escaped his mouth, and many feared the worst- that the only male of the clutch was to die before he even took his first prey. Makani was able to save him, but only just, the hatchling crying out, grasping at the edges of his nest. His parents named him "Lucca," their little light. Small he stayed, in both body and heart. More timid than a Ridgeback near water, Lucca would sooner turn tail from a duel against a frog than accept. His sisters, before they perished, would goad and laugh, taunting him, but he loved them still. They were strong and tall, and their wings spanned the skies higher than he could ever dream. He loved them, and he blamed himself only for their demise. Zal'tala helps him the best she can, but he's so timid only time will tell if he can make his first kill. |
