Birth Rights
If anyone ever spoke about a perfect storm, Tempesta would come to mind. Why? Because, she is the perfect storm.

Tempesta was born into the Lightning region, where her egg was believed to be cursed. Her mother questioned the egg, as it looked nothing like the other ones in her nest; thinking it might have been a gift from Stormcatcher. Little did she know, she was far from the truth. When she was born, she automatically displayed traits that were different from her brothers and sisters. She had excessive amounts of hair, along with a pearl that wasn't a pearl. Her "pearl" was actually a snowball forged with magic, harden into eternal ice, which turned black. The black ice pearl is just as important to her as pearls from pearlcatchers are.

When she began to grow into her magic, Tempesta was quickly abandoned. Her magic was unlike what the other dragons were used to. She had difficulties controlling it, and because of it, she was forced out of the Lightning region. She devastated anything her path. She didn't care. No one cared to help her. At one point, she tried to commit suicide, but realized she was immortal. Sinking her furthering to depression, which caused even greater storms. These storms were a mixture of strong winds, lightning, falling ice and blinding darkness. Dragons fleed from her oncoming presence.

It wasn't until she was confronted by Shadowbinder did she understand her origins. She is the daughter of Shadowbinder and Icewarden. She was hidden in the lightning region for a chance to hide her true identity because her parents feared it would create mass confusion about the "unlikely alliance" and perhaps jealousy among the other gods. Shadowbinder named her a "mistake" and that Tempesta should be locked away for her horrid powers. She was sealed away with magic, on Tranquil Island, to slumber until someone would have the heart to "calm the storm".
