Canis is, you could say, the clan dog-walker. It's common to glance outside and see her running through the plain with all the canines- working dogs, companions, wild wolves, etc- at her side or trailing behind. Only the service dogs stay home from her runs. She seems to be able to speak to them, and sometimes lets their owners know of any grievances their pets have. She thinks of all the clan's canines as her pack, and herself the leader. She calls her familiar- Luka, a brown hainu with similar markings to her own- her brother.

Canis is... an odd girl, even looking past her canine traits. She's confident and energetic on her own or with her pack, but around other dragons she becomes hesitant and anxious. She speaks quietly and unsurely, barks and growls punctuating her speech. Her body language is hard to read. Some think she's a werewolf or weredog, some think she was raised by wolves, others think one of her parents was a hainu. Whichever of those may be true - if any - the wolf pack in the orchard has a new voice when they sing for the full moon.

Canis was found when she was only a few weeks old, dragging a wolf pelt in her teeth and with a hainu pup she calls her brother. They were both starved and sickly and had wandered into the clan to find food, and Scutes and Scales took the pair in and raised Canis as their own. As soon as she was big enough, she put on her wolf pelt and never took it off. She doesn't remember anything before her adoption.
