Though he's mellowed out a bit with age, Cuarzo still considers himself a rather playful and high-spirited dragon. He's extremely chatty and rather prone to stretching the truth and telling white lies, making it a little hard to know when to trust his word. He's got a powerful paternal instinct and frequently finds himself babying other dragons, regardless of their age or status compared to himself. While he still enjoys a good trick or scare every once in a while, he considers his days of pranks and bullying behind him and only indulges around the festivals in autumn.

While his mate may have left to search for Tidelord several years ago he still feels loyal to her and refuses to find another partner, even though the two were in an open relationship before she departed. He's not entirely sure why it feels different now that she's gone, but he's not bothered by the fact that he's alone, either. Instead, he still stops by the cliffs whenever he gets the chance, patiently waiting to hear her voice on the wind again.

(His name means "Quartz")

-Would probably be in his early thirties if he were human

-Seems to exclusively be attracted to dragons larger than him, despite his claims against it

-Attempted to polish his hide once and has scars from doing so, as he is not actually made of crystal

-His kids don't really look up to him as a father and like to pretend he's just one of their siblings. This surprisingly doesn't annoy him

-Would probably be named either William or James as a human

"Cuarzo, we need to talk about something," The Spiral's heart froze in his chest as he heard those words. Yeah, he had never exactly been the most faithful partner, but what was there to talk about?

He probably looked kind of stupid right now, he figured, so he forced himself to put on a grin as he replied, "What's up honey?" The Ridgeback let a brief smile show as she sat down next to him, but quickly returned to her serious nature and his smile faltered.

"Well, of course you know about the recent events over at the Sea of a Thousand Currents and the Tidelord going quiet-"

"I'm not stupid am I?"

"Let me finish. Inundar and I as you know were born there, and, well, after a bit of discussion... We're going to go join the Windsinger and see if he has any clues on the search. We can't just let our deity go missing like that. He's out there somewhere, and he's gonna need all the help he can get," Cuarzo's heart fell as he listened to the story. Why in the world would she want to leave the Windswept Plateau for good? The clan treated her well, and even if her deity did go missing why did she need to be exalted to search? Couldn't she just go visit her home?

He didn't even notice that he had started shaking until Amatista put her wing around him. He took in a shaky breath and met her eyes, and she offered another smile. Oh, her wonderful smile, he would never be able to see it again. "I know this is hard to handle, but I hope you can understand," He nodded again, but looked away so she couldn't see the tears in his eyes. He had to compose himself, he couldn't...

"I understand. I'm gonna miss you darling. If there's a way to, could you please keep in touch?" His voice sounded pathetically small, but so what?

Amatista patted him on the back again. "Of course. I'm going to miss you as well, but let it be known I still love you!" She laid down and he leaned against her side, the two of them staring off at the rest of the ocean, enjoying the time they had left with each other...
