Tsubame
quote

Giada's mercenaries are a strange bunch. A pirate, a zombie, some nightbeasts, and an asthmatic fire mage walk into a bar... and a disgruntled necromancer trails after them and complains to anyone who'll listen about how the whole thing is idiotic.

Thus you have Tsubame in a nutshell.

He prefers the term "exorcist" over necromancer - there are certain connotations there, you see, and Tsubame finds the dead thoroughly distasteful. He's not about to scorn his greatest talent of course, he just doesn't want people to get the idea he wants to raise an army of zombies or something.

Normally an exorcist-for-hire, Tsubame has made some poor gambling decisions and is currently in debt to Giada and Jeremius both. He gets a cut of the mercing profits too, which is nice, even if it's not enough to actually pay either of them back. Also there is a steady supply of spirits with which to experiment with, so it's not all bad.

Character Notes
Dead Girls
• Tsubame could leave Giada without much issue - she wouldn't even make much of an effort to stop him, his annoying personality outweighs his usefulness a lot of the time. Despite his general jerkassery Tsubame is honorable; if he owes a debt he will repay it. Leaving the raider band prematurely has genuinely not occurred to him.
• Although Tsubame is a jerk, he's not actually evil, not like Giada and Bibou are. He's not (purposely) cruel or hateful and often even ends up being a voice of restraint. He is self-serving enough that he generally doesn't go out of his way to actually help anyone the raiders are terrorizing though.
• In general, Tsubame helps stuck spirits/ghosts move on from Sornieth. It's a weirdly altruistic thing considering his personality - though on the other hand he will bind particularly powerful spirits to his will and use them for as long as he can control them. The bound spirits with some consciousness left all have wildly different opinions of their master. (Some loathe him, some are apathetic, some are happy to see the world, some are content to help him for now since he helped them... and so on.)
• ...Except for one of them: Euthymios, Tsubame's ghostly canine companion. He seems to have been some sort of beastclan in life as he's clearly sapient, but he doesn't resemble any known beastclan. Mios functions as Tsubame's conscience much of the time, and of all Tsubame's bound spirits Mios is the only one who has any sort of influence over his master. In contrast to the exorcist's general prejudice of undead he seems almost fond of Mios - something to do with their long-time partnership, probably.

OOC Notes
• Dragon version of a Neopet.
• Mios is low-key in love with Tsubame. Nobody ever said the guy had good taste.

Neopets Tsubame :D

- Euthymios possibly an uplifted Second Age dog type pet?? Whose spirit was guarding his master's/partner's house for millennia. Or something.
- do Belinda as an old beastclan spirit? Some kind of powerful mage, or an old construct/cyborg or something? Let's avoid the Second Age here, I think.
