Biography
"Flee-ish"
Alert - Reliable - Sympathetic
For a dragon so foreign, Flidais holds many names in the Tuatha De Danaan, and in turn harbours much respect and prowess among the clan. Known as Dame Flidais, mother of the Four Jade Roots, and Hand of the King, her word is as law as that of Cernunnos.
Flidais' story begins with a tree.
Daughter to Clan-less rogues of the Snowsquall Tundra, Flidais' incubation was a dangerous one. Her lonely egg was often left unsupervised in a tiny wicker hut among a small grove of pine trees. While her parents tended to other business such as food or other necessities, Flidais was left alone and defenceless.
Had she not been born during the crest of spring, her circumstances would have been much safer. However, at this time of year, the Dryads ventured among the trees.
She was found by one Tree Maiden in particular, a Dryad vexed with the audacity of dragons who built their homes among her trees. In an attempt to disguise their home from them, the Dryad trapped Flidais' egg in the tree she sat incubating under.
She was left in that tree for quite some time, intertwining its energy with her own. The next year at the crest of spring she was freed, her parents having long since left the area in search of their hatchling.
Once free from the tree, Flidais was finally able to crack her egg. Although her eyes shined white, her scales told a much different story. She looked as if she should be born a tree.
Unable to abandon the dragon, the Nymph raised her, knowing well that it was her own rage that orphaned the Hatchling. Flidais was taught the magic of the South, how to heal and use her abilities offensively.
Flidais was drawn to nature ever since that day. Although her birthed alliance should have been with the Icewarden, the Gladekeeper called to her. She yearned to be where nature flourished. She took flight as soon as she could, abandoning the Ice Fields to find her place among the Labyrinth.
It was a long journey, and not long after she landed among the fruitful Gardens did she meet both Cernunnos and Brighid. She agreed to help in the foundation of the Tuatha De Danaan, enamoured by both the world around her and the Dreamer, Cernunnos.
It wasn't long after they'd settled in the Gardens that she and Cernunnos shared a nest. After having spent a while with the fae dragon, Flidais had grown strong feelings for the new king. His duties to the clan outweighing his opportunities for leisure, Flidais knows she cannot be his mate, and so she accepts that her heart belongs to him.
The Royal Offspring are Flidais' pride and joy. She is very protective over her children, her biggest fear being that they may also be taken from her somehow.
Appointed Hand of the King during the clan's foundation, it is Flidais' job to be beside Cernunnos at all times. Her abilities for empathy offer her the capability to guide him in decision making and political aspects. Cernunnos is very rarely seen without Flidais with him.
On these rare occasions, Flidais can be found with the Knights of Danaan; aiding in battle, or with the clan clerics, helping to train new apprentices.
