Mars has never been able to stay in the same place. She was one of the few runaway hatchlings thats actually managed to keep up and become a more permanent member of the clan. Her skills of survival are well-honed, but that’s not why others seek her out. Mars is a collector. Unlike others in the hobby, she keeps almost none of what she finds. It would weigh her back. Rarities just passing through her possession are enough to be thrilling.

Her eye for appraisal and nose for finding things has made her a hot commodity among those with rare collections. She can travel anywhere she wants in Sorenith, confident that her treks will be funded by wealthy dragons desiring certain relics. Since her growing popularity, elites have been obsessed with her. Wanting her at parties to entertain with stories of her travels, wanting to polish away her ruggedness and drape her in silks, wanting to keep her in one place. Nowadays its harder to get away from everything.

On one trip, taken to avoid a particularly insatiable collector, a storm came practically out of nowhere. It had threatened to ruin a rare book she had just recovered, but luckily a lighthouse was nearby. Its keeper, Cies, was happy to host her until the sky cleared. For some reason, when Mars recounted adventures, they flowed out excitedly and effortlessly, unlike usual. It was… cute to see the wildclaw’s face light up at the higher points, and gasp at the more suspenseful ones. She couldn’t keep herself from returning the next night. And the next.

Of course, the fairytale had to end. She had to get back to her clients. Had to keep moving. In her profession, there were a lot of folks she never saw again. Mars didn’t want Ceis to be one of them. But how could she tell the wildclaw how she felt? She ended up just leaving her a map. Ahrg! So stupid!
