Zera

As the daughter of the most adventurous couple, and the granddaughter of the Alpha, Papa Zu, growing up was full of loneliness. Zera was always by herself, only having her other dragonlings to play with, but with her lineage sometimes other were scared of playing with her. It was during these early years she ventured off into caves to explore why the others played dragonling games. One day why Zera was exploring the caves and tunnels within her island she found an abandoned room. Inside the cave someone had set up a collection of odd objects. These objects included chess pieces, gold, and scientific trinkets. It wasn't any of that though that intrigued her. On a smoothed out stone sat an obsideon jewelry box that glimmered with purple smoke. She attempted to open the box only to find no latches or opening of any kind. Was it some sort of egg? Maybe smashing it would open the item. Without too much thought Zera smashed the box on the ground and a blinding light broke through blinding the tiny Zera.

What came out was a creature of purple smoke and bone fragments swirling inside the smoke. It chirped at at the small dragonling who was now blind and scared in the corner of the room. The creature touched Zera with its tail and she screamed in fright. Quickly it hid in the shadows, bu eventually Zera stopped crying and asked who was there. The smoke creature whispered out, Yurei, and said thank you for freeing her from her prison. Yurei explained she was scared and alone for many years, with no one brave or curious enough to let her free. She apologized for blinding the dragon as the box had been cursed to take away something dear to the one who freed her. Zera asked the creature to guide her out of the caves, and did so willingly and joyfully. Since that day the two have been inseparable, always helping one another through the world. But most of all neither one was ever alone anymore, they had found light within each other's darkness.
