Hoarfrost

Hoarfrost was found as a tiny hatchling, wandering the southern shore of the Shifting Expanse, by Myrkandi. The old Ridgeback couldn't leave the half-starved baby alone, so she brought him back to the lair until his family or clan could be located. Later, a thorough search of the area where he was found revealed nothing to tell of who he was or how he got there, nor could questioning any of the local clans bring forth any answers. An even bigger mystery were the shackles on his front limbs and the ice that clung to his fur. Even after his time spent wandering the desert, then being fed and cleaned up in the lair, the ice never showed any sign of melting, and whatever metal the cuffs were made of seemed unbreakable. Jarna, Stalsig, and Viktor tried to use their inventions to delicately remove them without hurting the small baby, but they wouldn't budge. Myrkhals suggested that some of the tools he had near his forge might be able to break them, but the instant the baby was brought near the warm fire, he panicked and started crying as though he was in extreme pain. It was decided that since they did not seem to bother him, the cuffs would stay on. He was nicknamed Hoarfrost, and given a place to stay in the lair. Rothskegg and Issmork helped raise him and teach him. As he grew, he formed a strong friendship with one of the clan's other foundlings, Hverthvith. His past is still a mystery, but he doesn't seem to let this bother him. A gifted magic-user, Hoarfrost is a master of ice-based spells, but he still harbours an intense fear of fire that not even he can fully explain. Quiet and reserved, it seems as though he is constantly hiding something, though he will never speak of what seems to weigh so heavily on his mind.
