Red doesn't speak. Only making small chirps and guttural noises, the rest of The Dogs aren't sure if he is actually unable to use his voice, or if he just doesn't want to. Nevertheless, most of them have put in the effort to try to understand his small sounds and gestures, and Red even uses hand signals. Ronnie has been the most receptive to these, and the two basically communicate in a whole other language.

Red doesn't always stick around, but the others aren't sure where exactly he goes whenever he leaves. But he always seems to be around when they need his help the most.
