Biography

Les anciens Germains appelaient « völva » (« vala » ou « wala » en vieux haut allemand) les prêtresses et prophétesses. Les termes « seiðkona », « spákona » en norrois, « spaewife » ou « wicce » (terme générique pour sorcière) en vieil anglais sont utilisés pour les femmes pratiquant au moins l'une des magies nordiques. Elles sont des personnages récurrents de la mythologie germanique.
