Freydis is the "muscle" of Thistlecairn research expeditions, but being neither a strong swimmer nor capable of flight, she prefers to wander the lands of Sornieth in search of shade creatures to either eliminate or escort to the Southern Icefield. Sometimes she does thing herself, and sometimes she delivers her prisoners to the clan's southern envoy, Peron, with whom she has had an off and on and complicated relationship.

Gruff and quiet, her soft side is reserved for her Raptorik friend Okka, and for fellow clanmember and scout Caeneus, who often joins her on missions to report back to the clan on any new research finds.

Freydis' skeletal markings are not natural - rather, Okka paints them on her with mineral-based dyes on a regular basis. Her mother and father believed that, as otherwise all-obsidian dragons, the bright markings would serve as a threat and warning to any shade creatures that she was not a friend to them. 		Cindervine
